Horowitz, Eleazar

Horowitz, Eleazar
(1803-68)
   Austrian rabbi. He was born in Bavaria. He officiated as rabbi in Vienna from 1828. He engaged in disputes with anti-Semites and successfully advocated the abolition of the Jewish Oath. He contributed to Hebrew periodicals.
